Self Defense: Male and Female

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is widely known as one of the most effective methods for self defense, male or female, big or small. It doesn’t focus on strength or power, but on strategy.

Easy to Learn

Even someone with basic, minimal Jiu Jitsu skills can dominate a person who isn’t trained, or even is trained in another martial art.

Great Exercise

Jiu Jitsu not only teaches you self defense, it’s a great form of cardiovascular and muscular exercise, and can be massively helpful for flexibility, agility, tendon strength, and so on!

Cheap and Non-Committal

Only $10. You can come just to simply train. There’s not monthly membership, and you’re not joining a Jiu Jitsu team. This is purely for you benefit of health and security.

I’m a certified personal trainer and I have years of grappling experience. I’m also told that I am a great and exciting teacher. I love seeing people learn and grow and you’ll be no different.

You can contact me about getting personal training with me. I can help with weight loss, weight gain, specific training (i.e running, lifting, tumbling, calisthenics, etc.)

What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focusing on ground fighting and submission holds. It emphasizes technique and leverage, allowing smaller individuals to defend against larger opponents effectively.

What should I wear for my first class?

For your first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class, it is recommended to wear comfortable athletic clothing. Stray from wearing clothes that fingers can easily catch on such as baggy clothes, loose pockets or loops. And remove jewelry.

Are there classes for beginners?

Yes, all of the lessons over the summer (as of now) are for beginners. However, the classes are progressive and build on each other. You won’t be lost if you join halfway through, so don’t worry!
